It’s been a rough patch for Georgetown but tommorow night they have a chance to go to a place that they’ve had success.
The Hoyas look to continue the good look they have had at Hinkle Fieldhouse. when they face Butler. In the last seven years, the Hoyas are 6-1 at Hinkle including last season’s 73-66 win.
Georgetown (3-6, 1-4) has lost three games in a row.
In the most recent loss to Marquette, Georgetown blew an 18 point second half lead. Blowing double-digit leads has been a problem since Patrick Ewing has taken over. In his 52 losses at Georgetown, 14 have come when the Hoyas have had a double digit lead.
Hoyas have led by 10+ in more than a quarter of their losses over the last four seasons (14 of 52), which seems like a lot.

As always, you can’t talk about Georgetown without talking about their biggest issue. Turnovers. “It’s been are Achilles Heel all year,” said Ewing. The Hoyas are last in the Big East in both turnover margin and assist/turnover ratio.
Butler (2-5, 1-3) is also struggling. The Bulldogs get significant contributions from two DC area players. Freshman guard, Chuck Harris (Washington, D.C.) is averaging 11.4 points a game. Junior big man, Bryce Golden (Winchester, VA) is averaging 9.8 ppg, 5.5 rpg.
If Georgetown fans are looking for something positive, Ewing said “yesterday was our best practice of the year.”
