Tiger Woods

Any time Tiger Woods is playing, he’s the story. This week is no different. Woods will be going from win No. 83. Sam Snead’s 82 victories doesn’t have the same ring as Jack Nicklaus’ 18 majors but it’s on par with the Golden Bear’s record.

If Woods wins this it would be a tremendous feat considering that nine of the top 10 players in the world are playing. Add in the fact that Woods is 0-13 at the Genesis Invitational (and it’s previous iterations), would make breaking the record here, especially satisfying.

Prediction:

Winner: Dustin Johnson

In the Running: Rory McIlroy, Xander Schauffele, and Tony Finau

Tiger Finish: Between 10-15

Olympics

One of the most intriguing background stories is the race for the Olympics. Making the US Olympic team might be the toughest in the world. Currently, the top four Americans in the rankings are Brooks Koepka, Justin Thomas, Dustin Johnson, and Patrick Cantley. Where is Woods? He would be sixth among Americans. The four that was named along with Webb Simpson are in front of him. It’s important to Woods to make the 2020 Olympics because it’s his last realistic chance to do so.

LPGA Cancels Two More Tournaments

The LPGA has been forced to cancel two more tournaments on it’s Asian swing because of the coronavirus. Blue Bay LPGA on Hainan Island in China had already been canceled. Honda LPGA (Thailand) and HSBC Women’s World Championship (Singapore) have been added to the list.
