Castano Dominates Omotoso

In a fight, that found both fighters needing a victory to get back into title contention. Brian Castano embraced the pressure and it showed.

Castano would win the fight with a 5th round TKO when Omotoso wasn’t able to respond to the bell to start the sixth round.

Castano got off to a big start dominating both the 2nd and 3rd round. It was apparent from the beginning, that Castano had a significant advantage in hand speed. While Castano frequently got off first, Omotoso’s corner constantly asked him to “touch and move”. The strategy didn’t work. It seemed to make Omotoso passive and had him leaning up against the ropes way too much early on.

In between the fifth and sixth round, the ring doctor was in Omotoso’s corner checking out his arm and shoulder. Omotoso didn’t make the bell because of an apparent shoulder injury.
