Falcao Continues to Rise

Esquiva “La Pantera” Falcao (23-0, 15 KOs) will try to continue his climb up the middleweight division when he faces Jesus Antonio Gutierrez (25-3-2, 12 KOs).

The 2012 Olympic silver medalist last fought in March when he defeated Jorge Daniel Miranda by unanimous decision.

“I look at all of the middleweights out there, and I know I can compete with any of them, said Falcao. I fought on the biggest stage as an amateur. I will thrive when I am given that opportunity as a professional.”

Gutierrez was knocked out by Steve Butler in his last fight. Prior to that, he was 5-0-1 in his last six fights.

Falcao is ranked 7th by the WBA, WBC, and IBF. The middleweight division features the likes of Gennady Golovkin, Saul “Canelo” Alvarez, and Jermall Charlo just to name a few.
