Georgetown-Harvard Wrap Up

Football was back at RFK stadium but it wasn’t very kind to the home team. Georgetown squared off against Harvard at the historic stadium but was on the short end of a 41-2 score.

Harvard kicked off the scoring with a punt return for a touchdown. Justice Shelton-Mosely set a school record by taking a punt back 91 yards for a touchdown. The Hoyas would commit one of their four first half turnovers on the very next possession. The Crimson would take advantage of the gift that was capped off by an 11 yard touchdown run by Charlie Booker. Harvard would eventually throw an interception but the Hoyas couldn’t take advantage of it as Norris threw a pick six and Harvard was off to a 21-0 lead.

After a Harvard field goal and another punt by the Hoyas, Georgetown got their first break as the Crimson snapped a punt out of the end zone. But, a fumble by Georgetown set Harvard up in prime position and they cashed in with another touchdown for a 31-2 halftime lead.

The second half was much of the same. Georgetown opened up the second half with a big kickoff return but couldn’t capitalize after taking a sack that took them all the way back to midfield. After a punt, Harvard moved down the field and capped the drive with a 39 yard field goal. The Hoyas’ offense continued to sputter throughout the half.

Harvard capped off the scoring with a 30 yard touchdown reception by Henry Taylor.

Georgetown will travel to Princeton next Saturday.
