Kyrie doesn’t know what he’s getting himself into quite yet.

These last few weeks have been a roller coaster ride for the Cleveland Cavs. Free agency kicked off and LeBron was a little unsure of the Cavs future after they didn’t make a huge splash as expected by getting Carmelo Anthony or Paul George.

Recent reports have said that Kyrie wants out of Cleveland and he tired of being ‘Robin’ to his ‘Batman’. In 3 seasons with LeBron, Kyrie has made 3 straight finals appearances and has 1 ring to show for it. I would like to think that Kyrie shouldn’t have an issue saying that he’s thankful for LeBron, which he should be.

Irving seems to want to be a centerpiece to a team, most say he’s taking the ‘Kobe route’ but I would like to think that borderline blasphemy. He’s said to have wants want ‘John Wall has in Washington’ but he’ll have to tweak his game a lot to even have what Wall has and be effective with it. He has that killer mentality that Kobe did but numbers say otherwise why he might not be ready to be head huncho. Before LeBron, Kyrie and his Cavs had a win-loss record of 78-152. It’s hard to say Kyrie has gotten better since LeBron returned home because his numbers are similar to those before he came.

The Heat, Wolves, Suns, Spurs, and Knicks have all been choices of Irving’s. He wants to be a centerpiece but all of those teams listed he doesn’t allow him to be that guy. The Suns are his best option in my opinion. He’ll be paired with great shooting guard Devin Booker, who is one of the best shooters in the league. The Knicks allow him to grow his brand and he’ll be close to home, but I don’t think he’s ready to have the Mecca on the weight of his shoulders, especially after he could hardly hold Cleveland together. Those teams should take his injury history into consideration as well, as he’s injured almost every part of his body that’s key to the sport of basketball.

I think it’s safe to say Kyrie likely wont be a Cavalier come start of next season. The situation is too toxic at this point and Kyrie seems to have his mind made up. Be careful what you wish for Kyrie, it not everyday that you get a chance to play with LeBron James.
