JeQuan Lewis Headlines 3 Rams Named to All-Atlantic 10 team

On the eve on the Atlantic 10 tournament, VCU’s JeQuan Lewis, Justin Tillman and Mo Alie-Cox all were named to the All-Atlantic 10 team.

Lewis was named first team All-Atlantic 10. The Rams point guard elevated his offensive game each year he was there. This season he had seven 20 point games, had 9 three pointers in one game and averaged a career best 14.7 points per game.

Lewis also had a career high 34 points against St Joe’s and he’s currently 19th on the Rams all-time scoring list.

Junior Justin Tillman was third team All-Atlantic 10. Tillman played like a throwback post player. Coach Wade said Tillman ability to catch the ball is underrated. It’s one of the strongest skills a big man can have. But it wasn’t just Tillman’s offense that made him an impact player. He ended the regular season with career highs in points and rebounds. This included 9 double-doubles. His defense shouldn’t be underrated either. His ability to control the lane allowed VCU to be aggressive out of the perimeter.

Defense is a calling card for VCU so it’s only fitting that Senior Mo Alie-Cox made the All-Atlantic 10 Defensive Team. This is the third consecutive year Alie-Cox has made the team. He’s VCU second all time leader in career blocks and had a career high in steals.
