Georgetown-Providence: Quick View

Providence heads to DC coming off a win over Seton Hall. In the win over the Pirates, Rodney Bullock had 22 and Kyron Cartwright had 20. It was the first time this season Providence had two players score 20 or more points in the same game.

On Saturday, Georgetown defeated former Big East foe, 72-69. The Hoyas were down 14 points in the second half before they staged a furious comeback. LJ Peak scored 16 of his 21 points in the second. It was a 19-3 Hoyas run in the second half that, not only got them back in the game but gave them the lead.

In the first meeting, Providence walked away with a 76-70. In that game, the Friars had four players score in double digits led by Jalen Lindsey’s 19. Both teams struggled with their shooting in the first half of that game but it warmed up in the second half. Providence shot 52% while Georgetown shot 51% in the half. The Friars took the lead for good on Alpha Diallo’s three point play with 8:53 left.
