Atlantic 10 Round Up: Patriot Pride

Not that long ago George Mason (4-3) was sitting at 1-3 after a blowout loss to Houston. How things have changed since. The Patriots have won 3 straight including an 80-77 win over rival (and former CAA conference brethren), James Madison. In the overtime victory over the Dukes, George Mason’s Marquis Moore scored 20 which is right on his average for the last three games.

Davidson (4-1) is also riding a three game winning streak that includes wins over Missouri and Arizona State while VCU (5-1) had impressive back to back wins in the Bahamas over St. Johns and LSU. After their win over rival Temple, there was no let up from UMass (4-1). Led by junior Donte Clark, the Minutemen defeated Holy Cross and Harvard.

Fordham (5-2) saw their five game winning streak come to an end with a loss to UT-Arlington.

The Spiders had a solid showing in Brooklyn where they split their two games. Richmond (4-3) lost a tough one to Maryland in overtime but followed it up, with a solid win over Boston College.

Rhode Island (5-2) looked to sweep their week after the loss to Duke but there might have been some hangover. After a 9 point win over Belmont, the Rams dropped a tough one at Valparaiso. Jarvis Garrett missed a game tying three in the loss.

St Louis (2-4) dropped two tough games, Alabama and Samford, after their 3o point loss to BYU. Duquesne (3-4) broke a three game losing streak with a win over Cleveland State.  While George Washington (3-3)  will try to snap a 3 game losing streak at Harvard.

St Joe’s (3-2)  dropped a couple of games in the Virgin Islands. Neutral site losses to Ole Miss and NC State are a couple of missed opportunities for the Hawks.

After dropping their initial game in the Lone Star Shootout, St. Bonaventure (3-2) responded with two rock solid wins over Central Michigan by 31 and Pepperdine by 26. Not to be outdone, Dayton (4-2) did the same thing thing as the Bonnies. The Flyers dropped their initial game in the Wooden Legacy Classic (two point loss to Nebraska) and then rattled off two straight wins.

LaSalle moved to 2-2 with an eleven point win over Drexel.
