Manny Pacquiao scores victory in his comeback – Manny Pacquiao scored a unanimous decision over Jessie Vargas in his first fight since he came back from retirement. Pacquiao floored Vargas in the 2nd round.

New Orleans Pelicans cut Lance Stephenson – A few seasons ago, Lance Stephenson was a hot NBA entity. Things have changed since. Pelicans released Stephenson and signed Archie Goodwin.

Mark Cuban vs. ESPN – Mark Cuban has revoked the credentials of two ESPN Media members, Mark Stein and Tim MacMahon, for reasons one can only speculate. Most think it is because ESPN doesn’t have a member of its staff dedicated to the Mavericks. Cuban hasn’t given an official reason.

Match fixing scandal – Twenty one people in South Korea, including some players, have been accused of match fixing. The South Koreans have had problems with match fixing in both baseball and soccer.

Tom Gilbert Suspended – Los Angeles Kings’ defenseman, Tom Gilbert, has been suspended three games for boarding.

Rod Pampling ends 10 year streak – Rod Pampling won his first PGA Tour event in 10 years. He ended his drought by winning the Shriners Hospital for Children Open. His last win was at Bay Hill in 2006.

Yoenis Cespedes Opts Out – In what can only be described as “crazy confidence”, Yoenis Cespedes opted out of his contract with the New York Mets. In doing so, he’s leaving $47.5 million on the table.

Colorado Rockies Hire Bud Black – The Colorado Rockies have hired Bud Black as their new manager.

Streak Ends for Steph Curry – For the first time in 157 games, Steph Curry didn’t make a three. The streak ending was just as stunning as the Lakers beating the Warriors by 20.
