Al Shorta 67

Petrochimi bounced back from their lost to Al Riyadi with a win over Al Shorta. It wasn’t easy though. Al Shorta was up by 3 at halftime and you had to question if Petrochimi was suffering from a hangover after their first loss.

But Petrochimi used a huge third quarter to cruise to a win. They outscored Al Shorta 27-11 in the quarter. Petrochimi was led by Greg Robinson Jr. He had 25 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Al Shorta was led by Justin Hawkins 31 points.

 

Al Ahli 90

Pauian 80

Samuel Young was determined not to let Al Ahli lose their match up against Pauain. Young scored 40 points and snagged 8 rebounds in their 90-80 win. Young wasn’t alone. Qais Al-Shabebi had 22 points and 14 rebounds.

Quincy Davis’ 20 points, 13 rebounds paced Pauian. Al Ahli held a slim 5 point lead going into the fourth but pulled away in the final frame.

Pauian had 22 turnovers that led to 21 points for Al Ahli.

 

Al Riyada 88

Barsy Atyrau 69

Group A Al Riyada did what they were supposed to do, blow out an inferior opponent. Five players scored in double digits for the victors. They were led by Alade Aminu who had a solid 16 point-10 rebound performance.

The first half couldn’t have been worse for Barsy Atyrau. They only scored 13 points in the first quarter and followed it up with a dismal 7 point second quarter. They were down 53-25 at halftime.

Al Riyada cruised in the second half as Barsy Atyrau outscored them in both the third and fourth quarter. Barsy Atyrau was led by Pavel Micheev’s 24 points and 9 rebounds.

 

China Kashkar 95

Al Rayyan 84

Like Group A winner, Al Riyada, China Kashkar continued their undefeated run with a 95-84 overtimie victory. China Kashkar withstood a massive performance by Al Rayyan’s Preston Knowles. Knowles had 37 points and 9 rebounds. Yehia Abdelhaleem had 18 points and 17 rebounds.

Despite those big performances, China Kashkar made up a ten point deficit in the last 4:26 to force the game to overtime including Darius Adams game tying 3 pointer with 17 seconds left in the fourth.

In the overtime, China Kashkar was +11. Andray Blatche scored 22 points and grabbed 1o rebounds and Qi Zhou 23 and 12.
